Living in New York City, you will see some crazy things, and that is probably on a daily basis. So with that in mind, when I catch myself feeling stress or tension in my face and jaw, I flutter my lips and sometimes loud. Again, no biggy! I'm sure you've seen more bizarre things.
We hold so much tension subconsciously throughout our body and we don't even realize. Holding tension in our face can take up a lot of energy. As the day goes on, unexpected things pop up and we may tense up in the face, shoulders and neck. Also, as it gets colder, we contract the body, closing off our shoulders (closing our hearts) and can close off emotionally as well. And this could perpetuate more tension or negative thinking.
Fluttering your lips is so beneficial for the body, the face and mind. Fluttering relaxes the muscles in the face especially and in the jaw, so you'll feel lighter and more free.
So let's take a deep breath in together...hold at the top...and exhale as we vibrate the lips and let it go!.
